WYD in Madrid: A Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity!

Picture
This is the Holy Father’s call for Catholic youth, all over the world, to unite in Madrid next August.  As young men of Schoenstatt, we want to take this invitation head-on, and not as spectators, but as active and participating leaders.

How Do We Respond the Holy Father’s Call?

Rooted and grounded in Christ, firm in the faith.
Our Pope challenges us with this motto, and we want to live this out in a concrete way in our everyday lives as witness to all.  This witness, so much our own charism of living truthfully and fruitfully, is the same as that of the first sodalists (on whom our youth is based) and of the Consecration of Love.
  • Rooted.  Under Our Lady in the Shrine, we want, through her, to come to Christ and establish our roots in Him.
  • Grounded.  Transformed by maternal graces the Blessed Mother gives us in the Shrine, we want to ground ourselves in the Church’s teaching as New Men.
  • Firm in the Faith.  With the solidity of faith the Blessed Mother gives us, we want to be the Missionary Generation of Schoenstatt that will bring the fire of Christ to the ends of the earth.

Unanimiter.

This is the name we’ve selected for the International Youth Men Conference, an event that will take place before the arrival of Pope Benedict, for the first time in the history of the Movement.
The word “Unamiter” perfectly captures the exact moment in which the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles, united with Mary at the center, and set them ablaze, impassioned to set more hearts on fire for Christ.  Today, we want to live that experience of being touched by Christ, of feeling His burning love for souls, and then setting the world on fire with that love.

Moving Towards 2014

Picture
We’re counting on you to be a living witness of the authenticity of the Consecration of Love as a concrete way of living our faith in the world today.  We’re counting on you to be a living witness of the Consecration of Love as a people capable of changing the modernistic and individualistic culture which has infected our world.  We’re counting on you to be a living witness of the real presence of Our Blessed Mother and her Son through a deep connection to the Shrine.  We’re counting on you to continue on this road towards 100 years of Schoenstatt in 2014.
United in a single desire to remember the mission left to us by Father Kentenich and the first sodalists, we will be the second generation of sodalists that determines the role of Schoenstatt in this world for the next 100 years.
We’re counting on you to continue living this dream of Father Kentenich, a challenge given us by the Father, to give Schoenstatt to the Church and to the whole world.
See you in Madrid!
